I don't think that's correct


If anything, the mounting criticism of Dooley's soft schedules had led Tech to pursue series against higher profile opponents that we weren't really ready to take on. That's how the "murderers row" schedule of 1991 ultimately came about.

Given the fact that the bulk of the schedule any given year is usually negotiated years in advance, I find it hard to believe that we didn't have a full schedule heading into 1987. And given our particular circumstances at the time, I also don't think we had much trouble in finding schools who wanted to play us.
